Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
I won’t be celebrating necessarily (not even wearing green), but I am going to a Spraoi this Saturday, so I figure I’ll get my Irish fix for the week anyway.
I am a twenty-seven-year-old guy from Freeport, FL, working as a systems analyst for a defense contractor, worshiping God at a local Reformed Presbyterian church, and otherwise living it up around this part of the Panhandle. I am infatuated with - and constantly searching for - all that is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent or praiseworthy.
This is my Tumblr - it's a hub for all my various Internet activity. Hope you enjoy.
Cheers! ~ Jon

Lose It! is an iPhone app that tracks a user’s weight loss progress. I’ve been using it for a week now, and it’s pretty slick. To begin, I input my weight, target weight, age, sex, etcetera, and Lose It! gives me my recommended daily calorie budget. Each day I record what I have for each meal plus whatever exercise I’ve done and Lose It! calculates how many calories I’ve consumed minus the calories I’ve burned. Very handy, and it’s very fast and reliable. I’m keeping this one on my front screen.
Check out this pitchfork.tv Vampire Weekend set. It’s prodigious.
It took them a year, but NASA finally got around to responding to a FOIA request to release the list of all of the books, movies, TV shows and music available to the residents of the ISS. Asimov is in there, as is Robert Jordan(?!). They get to watch LOST, which is cool, although I doubt they get the latest ones as soon as they become available. Also, 20 songs? And 2 of them are Justin Timberlake and Lee Greenwood (“God Bless the USA”)? At least one of the songs is Modest Mouse, but even that can get old after a few months in orbit, I’m sure.
Awesome new robot courtesy of Boston Dynamics and DARPA. After you watch the video, check this out (hilarious).
That’s John cutting up snapper for last Friday’s Oyster Shuck. Click here for more pics.
